So life is...um...interesting right now. If I begin from where I left off you will get bored about 3 minutes (and paragraphs) into this post and leave to get some vodka.
I'll give you the "as-abridged-as-Michelle-can-make-it" versions. Happy faces all around, right?
January found us returning from our honeymoon halfway through and immediately throwing ourselves into home renovations in preparation for putting it on the market in April. Crumbled plaster walls, dry wall separating from the frame, an extra month, 3 electric shocks, about $3500 (give or take a few hundred) and 2 trips to the emergency room later, the house was as done as it was going to be, on the market and sold within 22 hours. Pretty frickinominal, right?
That then left us with needing to find new digs in MN. We had had our eye on a 5.06 acre "hobby farm" about 45 min outside of the city since January. I checked every week to see if it had sold/gone down in price and was ecstatic to see that the latter was true. Now if you know me, you know I don't get paranoid, worked up or psycho about ANYTHING (shut your pie-hole, Adelle) so my attitude was "if it's meant to be...it will be." No for real it was when it came to this house. Our trip was planned for May 21st-28th due to Jeff's teaching schedule. Our Realtor was able to set us up with a showing the afternoon we arrived and as soon as we walked up the sidewalk...well, hobby farm, you had me at 'newly redone concrete sidewalk.'
Fast forward a mere 12 hours. I was writing an astronomical "earnest money" check to accompany our offer and pending a successful home inspection, it was ours. Nuts, huh?
Now don't get me wrong, there are tons of tidbits I could've included in this post, but who cares about the black bear sighting, the swarm of thousands of dragon flies that keep the mosquitoes at bay or the garden/fruit trees/vineyard that will keep us fed and drunk all year long?
So when you come to rob us of the very few, cheap possessions that we have, here are pics of the home to help you get your bearings:
